Estee Fox (or Estee Fox B.) High School Art Educator | Animator | Author & Illustrator | MFA, Maryland Institute College of Art

Passionate high school art teacher with over a decade of experience inspiring students through drawing, digital art, and animation. Currently teaching at Denver East High School, where I built and lead a groundbreaking animation program, securing $80,000 in CTE grants to equip a state-of-the-art lab with desktops, laptops, and tablets for future animators.

I hold an MFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art (graduated with honors and nominated as a finalist for the MFA Daedalus Fellowship). With 30+ years of drawing experience, my work has been exhibited nationally and internationally. As an independent animation filmmaker and visual storyteller, I blend surreal, emotional narratives with strong technical skills in traditional and digital media.

My teaching is deeply informed by my journey as an author and illustrator. Drawing from my recovery from an eating disorder (mentored by Diane Renz, LPC), I created the children’s book You Are an Elephant, which promotes body positivity, self-acceptance, and resilience in young readers through animal characters. Becoming a mother reinforced my commitment to fostering confidence and creativity in students before challenges arise.

What I bring to the classroom:

  • Expertise in foundational drawing, digital art, animation, and storytelling

  • Proven ability to secure funding and build innovative programs

  • A student-centered approach that builds technical skills alongside personal growth, empathy, and self-expression

  • Experience nurturing diverse learners, including neurodiverse students (as an autistic educator who leverages deep focus and passion in the arts)

I’m excited to bring this blend of professional artistry, curriculum innovation, and mentorship to a high school community. Ready to empower students to discover their creative voices!
